Are We There Yet? @ UN General Assembly #79, New York
About a year ago my class and I did a group exhibtion in collaboration with Svenskt Tenn and researchers at the Beijer Institute. The goal of the project was to find ways to convey and comunicate research on antibiotic resistance. Caroline Hallersjö and I were in charge of creating the exhibitions visual identity.
In the summer of 2024 Caroline and I together with our teacher Sophia Wood were invited to present the exhibition at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations, in conjunction with the UN General Assembly #79, that would take place the 25th of September 2024. (And at a side event hosted by ReAct at the White Space Chelsea Gallery, the night before). Caroline and I decided to revamp the design of the identity as the exhibition was only going to be presented through posters. We kept the red color and added typographic posters containing quotes from our classmates works. We wanted the posters to resemble signs that you would see at a demonstration as one of the issues of antibiotic resistance is that nobody talks about it. We also made pocket-sized booklets containing more information and full color photos of the artworks. When we had concluded our presentation at the UN, the Maltese delegation wanted to buy the posters. We agreed and now we’ll see what happens next.
While in New York we ran along the Hudson River, ate bagels at Washington Square Park, watched as a drunk couple flipped their boat in Central Park, biked over the Brooklyn Bridge & stood in line to a bunch of different TikTok approved restaurants. We also visited book stores like Printed Matter and Bungee Space to submit our graduation project books, got a last second guided tour at the late architect Donald Judds 5-story cast iron home/studio, accidentally found an artist-bookfair and visited Pentagram where we were generously shown around by Matt Willey and were left starstruck after being introduced as “the swedish students” to Paula Sher, who Matt shares his desk with.
Thank you Sophia for relentlessly pulling in strings for over a year to make this actually happen.
Thank you Beijer Foundation, Beijer Institute, Beckmans, Svenskt Tenn, ReAct and VK24.
Here are some cool signs and trucks I saw:

Talk @ EY Doberman
© Peter Olofsson© Peter Olofsson© Peter Olofsson
Today I had the honour of talking about my graduation project “Bestfriends4ever” at EY Dobermans inspiration day. The theme for the day was the process of design and I got to start of by talking about the process behind my book, the concept, the tattoing and the bookmaking. When I was done I joined the audience of the 60ish employees and listened to Johanna Burai, the next guest, talk.
EY Doberman had generously awarded me their design stipend for my graduation project back in may.
They wrote:
“A work that with its vulnerability, process and amazing craftsmanship, gives us goosebumps. By being deeply personal, he makes us talk about relationships and friendship, while at the same time highliting problems around voluntary and involuntary loneliness. A warm story baked in with cold metal and raw, delicate design choices. We can’t let go of BF4E”.
Thank you for having me!
P.S. I now have a comprehensive 30-45min presentation on my design process if anyone reading this wants to invite me for a talk :)
